All training (no matter which of my courses) will be done with gentle, motivational methods in a kind, fair and effective manner

Basic life skills

This is a 7 week course for all ages (pups to adults).

Each class will only have up to 6 dogs. Generally these are puppy and young dog classes but there may be an occasional older dog included.

The handler attends the first week without their dog and will be given a few short talks about stress in dogs and canine communication why it is good to have even a basic understanding of them when training.

There will also be puppy talk e.g. jumping up, bite inhibition, exercise, feeding etc.

There will be a question and answer time and an explanation of what an enriched environment is and why it is good for their dogs when entering somewhere new to them.

The aim is to have classes that are as stress free as possible for both dog and handler.

This first class should set the handlers up for the rest of the course and give them an insight into my style of training.

The next few weeks will cover all of the basics such as sit, down, stand, stay, wait, recall, walking on a loose lead, plus a little trick training, some nose work and anything else appropriate that the handlers wish to work on.

The handlers will be taught clicker training but if anyone can not get on with it they can be taught a different method of training.

Worksheets are handed out each week.

Certificates are given upon completion of the course.

It is necessary to book in as places are limited.  Bookings are being taken now for the next course.
